The Friends For A_Dog DJ Camp program was completely free of price. The first day, children learned all the ins and outs of DJ-ing with local DJs Big Dog, Justin REM and KermiTT. The second day, they learned about music production from local producers Es-K and Loupo, were they not only taught the children about making beats, but were even able to make their own on the spot! Finally, on the third day, Zach Crawford AKA “Skysplitter” showed the campers post production recording, with local vocalists Lyric and S.i.n Sizzle. The kids then learned about rapping and recorded over the previously made beats. Overall Big Dog describes the day camp as a “great success”— both the kids and teachers had loads of fun!

Check out this HIGHLIGHT VIDEO from the B.F.A. (ST. Albans) DJ CAMP, provided by the FFA_D Foundation, which was produced by James Konrad, a student of the Northwest Technical Center @ Bellows Free Academy, St. Albans. The three day intensive camp was all about DJ'ing, beat making, music production + writing lyrics + rapping. The music in this video is the final product of the three day camp project.

In addition to the DJ CAMP they hosted, The Foundation awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship to LUCIA PELKEY, a graduating senior @ B.F.A. Saint Albans, CLASS OF 2017!!
