Red Square is not the average vanilla Burlington bar. In it’s years of operation, the bar has caused commotion, chaos, broken marriages, and frightened clowns. You might just have to come down and visit yourself. On the contrary, it’s because of Red Square that the heart of Burlington Vermont stays lit seven nights a week throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons and six nights/week in the winter.

This venue creates excitement in the music community, and nearby apartments and stores. Residents who live upstairs occasionally email in testimonials about how much they jam out to the PA speakers amplifying music outside. Their long roots have been growing since 1998, and have created pivoting movements in the local music scene. At Red Square, you’ll have a blast with crazy people, and even crazier staff!

Legendary individuals and groups such as Rubblebucket, Grace Potter, and DJ A_Dog started and grew their careers right here at Red Square. Between the hours of 6pm and 2am, Red Square is open seven days a week on most weeks. They are known for their quality in performers, which includes a variety of talent such as; bands up to 6 pieces, duos and single disc jockeys, and MC & DJ duos. In addition, trivia and karaoke nights have generated popularity amongst additional groups in the community. Red Square is also music venue that gives local talent opportunity to perform amongst their three stages: the main stage, the alley, and the blue room. They’ve supported local music throughout their twenty years of adventure, and are called home for many DJs who grew their careers in Burlington.

The home base for DJs has grown a unique culture within the sound waves of Red Square. Three to four nights a week, Red Square hosts two DJs a night. During the summer, you can enjoy Burlington’s best outdoor patio seating with cozy nooks and crannies that are waited on. Rain or shine, the alley is open or covered with extendable/retractable overhangs. If you’re in town, and are looking for a place to find great dancing and fine drinks, consider Red Square to be on your list of places to hang out. They’re located at 136 Church St. Burlington, VT. 05401. Their monthly calendar of talent are displayed in their front door, and you can also find their lineup online at Lastly, Red Square has a deep selection of beers and liquors, and their seasonal drink specials will start your night with a shot of excitement!
